Conversation is the new lead

Conversation is the new lead

“Conversation is the new lead”.

That was a sentence that really stayed with me after having left the Digital Marketer Conference Down Under in 2018. And it was Ryan Deiss who said it. It was one of those things that seemed so obvious in retrospect (but not so obvious until I’d actually heard him say it).

In an online environment that’s now degenerated into a cacophony, conversations are increasingly valued.

Sure, it’s great to have automated marketing and whiz-bang funnels. They can definitely help facilitate a conversation. But the conversation still needs to be authentic.

He suffered through a CPA in 1997 and completed it despite not liking it at all because he believed it was a valuable skill to have. He sacrificed his personality in the process. In 2004 he finished his MBA (Masters In Business Administration) from the Australian Graduate School of Management and loved it! He scored a distinction (average) and got his personality back too!
