What if you spend years of focused effort and achieving success … and when you finally get there you realise it isn’t enough?
In 2012 Will Smith had achieved it all. He had accomplished everything he dreamt of as a young boy. And then he realised it didn’t make him happy.
Most of us define success as something to be achieved in the future. And therein lies the problem. If the destination becomes the overarching objective to the point where it eclipses the journey, then the joy of success is momentary and fleeting at best.
The quality of the journey (to the destination) might be a better way to measure success.
When success is measured that way, failure is almost impossible and success isn’t fleeting or momentary.
